Starbucks Spreads Holiday Cheer with Free Drinks for NHS Heroes
Starbucks is once again warming hearts this festive season by offering free Tall beverages to NHS staff across the UK on December 5th. Now in its fifth year, this collaboration with NHS Charities Together is a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to NHS workers for their unwavering dedication. Any NHS staff member can claim a free Tall drink in-store by presenting a valid NHS ID, enjoying the likes of holiday favorites such as Toffee Nut Latte and the new Gingerbread Cream Iced Chai Tea Latte.
Beyond the free drinks in stores, Starbucks is taking the initiative even further this year. An impressive array of festive treats, including 25,000 Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso™ cans, 42,000 Premium Instant sachets, and baked goodies like vegan brownies, will be delivered directly to hospitals. For the first time, 10 ambulance service stations are also included in the giveaways. NHS staff visiting "We Proudly Serve Starbucks®" stores in participating hospitals can snag a free Starbucks® Milk Chocolate Gold Coin with any hot drink purchase, while supplies last.

This generous campaign reflects Starbucks’ ongoing commitment to supporting NHS workers, with the help of NHS Charities Together. Over the years, the partnership has enabled the creation of mental health support systems, well-being gardens, and more for NHS staff. Alex Rayner, General Manager of Starbucks UK, noted the company’s pride in providing this token of appreciation, emphasizing how Starbucks fosters connections, especially during the holidays.
To mark this year’s giveaway milestone, the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir will perform at the London Ambulance Service HQ, bringing festive cheer to frontline workers. Ellie Orton OBE, CEO of NHS Charities Together, highlighted the importance of such gestures during the demanding winter season, noting how they reinforce gratitude for the life-saving work of NHS staff.
