Stowaway's Journey: Woman Who Boarded Delta Flight to Paris to Return to US
A bizarre incident involving a stowaway on a Delta Air Lines flight has grabbed headlines, raising serious questions about airport security. A 57-year-old woman from Russia, identified as Svetlana Dali, managed to board a flight from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Paris without a ticket, passport, or boarding pass. Despite bypassing several security checkpoints, she somehow made her way onto the fully booked flight, prompting an investigation by authorities.
The incident unfolded last week when Dali, who is a legal resident of the United States, managed to evade identification checks and board the Delta flight. She passed through a body scanner, went through security screening, and yet did not present any documentation required for international travel. According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), she was able to slip past two crucial identity verification stations without being stopped. This shocking breach of security has left many questioning how such a thing could happen at one of the busiest airports in the world.

Onboard, Dali allegedly moved between the airplane's bathrooms, never taking a seat, which allowed her to evade suspicion for a significant amount of time. Fellow passengers only became aware of her presence when flight attendants noticed her unusual behavior. Eventually, the flight crew reported the issue, and the pilot announced that they were waiting for authorities to sort out the "extra passenger" onboard.
Upon landing in Paris, Dali was detained by French authorities, who quickly discovered that she lacked the necessary visa for entry into France. She was placed on a return flight to the US, but things took another strange turn. During her attempted return journey, Dali caused a disturbance and began screaming about not wanting to go back to the United States. French authorities removed her from the plane, and she remains in France while authorities from both the US and France continue to investigate the situation.
As the investigation unfolds, Delta Air Lines and the TSA are conducting thorough inquiries into how the woman managed to bypass security. The airline has pledged to cooperate fully with authorities, emphasizing the importance of safety and security in aviation. For now, Dali will remain in France, awaiting further actions from both the French and US authorities.
