A Look Ahead at the 2025 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions
The 2025 LPGA season is officially underway, and all eyes are on the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, marking the start of the tour’s 75th anniversary celebrations. This prestigious event brings together an exclusive field of 32 players, with no cuts and only the best from the past two seasons of LPGA events. Among the star-studded lineup, one name stands out—World No. 1 Nelly Korda. The American powerhouse had an exceptional 2024 season, securing seven victories, the most by any player in over a decade. With this level of success, Korda enters this tournament with high hopes of claiming her first win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

Despite an impressive track record, including four top-five finishes and five top-10s in six starts, Korda has yet to capture a victory in this event. Her best performance came in 2019 and 2021 when she finished in third place, and she’s surely eager to change that this year. However, standing in her way is defending champion Lydia Ko, the 27-year-old from New Zealand. Ko enters the tournament after a career-defining 2024, having won the Olympic gold medal in Paris and securing a spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame. But Ko isn't resting on her laurels; her eyes are set on completing a career grand slam, with victories already under her belt at prestigious events like the Chevron, Evian, and Women’s British Open.
Seventeen of the top 25 players in the Rolex Women’s Rankings are competing, further elevating the tournament’s excitement. Four players will be making their TOC debut, including Lauren Coughlin, Linnea Strom, Rio Takeda, and Bailey Tardy, adding fresh faces to the mix. The overall purse for the event is $2 million, with the winner taking home $300,000 in prize money.
As the players prepare for the first round, anticipation is building for what promises to be an exhilarating four days of golf at the beautiful Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida. The competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and the atmosphere is electric. Whether Korda will capture her elusive victory or Ko will defend her title, one thing is certain—this tournament will be one to watch, as it kicks off another thrilling year of LPGA action.
