Disneyland Remains Open Despite California Wildfires' Threat
The recent wildfires ravaging Los Angeles have raised concerns for many, including those planning to visit Disneyland in Anaheim. With devastating fires burning across Southern California, including the massive Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, many wonder: is Disneyland at risk? The good news for Disney fans is that Disneyland Resort, which includes Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure, is open and operating as usual.
Although the fires have destroyed over 12,000 structures and claimed 23 lives, the theme park has not been impacted. Disneyland is located about 45 miles away from the Pacific Palisades, where the fires are being fought by brave firefighters. The closest fire to the resort is the Eaton Fire, located near Pasadena and Altadena. As of January 14th, this fire had burned over 14,000 acres, though it was 35% contained. Fortunately, Anaheim remains unaffected by the fires, with no active blazes in the area.

The Walt Disney Company is closely monitoring the situation, and despite the surrounding devastation, the theme park has remained open. Disneyland’s operating hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for Disneyland Park, while Disney's California Adventure is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Additionally, the Downtown Disney shopping, dining, and entertainment district is operating from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The firestorms that have ravaged Los Angeles are still far from Anaheim, and the area continues to be safe for visitors. Disneyland has reassured its guests that the park is fully functional, and all attractions, restaurants, and events are running as planned. Even with the challenges surrounding the wildfires, Disneyland has proven to be resilient.
In response to the fires, the Walt Disney Company has committed $15 million to wildfire relief efforts, showing their support for those affected. While many parts of California struggle to recover from the fires, Disneyland and the city of Anaheim remain safe and unaffected, providing a sense of normalcy to visitors. For those looking to escape the chaos and enjoy some fun, Disneyland continues to be a welcoming, magical destination.
