Everything You Need to Know About "Landman" Season 2
"Landman" has quickly made its mark on viewers, captivating audiences with its gritty portrayal of the oil industry. While the first season wrapped up with intense drama, fans are already speculating about what's next. Though Paramount+ hasn't officially renewed "Landman" for a second season, the series' popularity suggests that Season 2 is highly likely. The finale of the first season left us on the edge of our seats, with Tommy Norris, portrayed by Billy Bob Thornton, facing several massive challenges.
Tommy's life took an unexpected turn when his boss, Monty Miller (played by Jon Hamm), passed away from a heart attack, leaving Tommy to take over the role of president at M-Tex Oil— a position he never wanted. Season 1's finale left Tommy in a high-stakes situation with a drilling deal that could bankrupt the company if it doesn't go through. On top of that, he's forced to navigate a complicated, and sometimes dangerous, partnership with a drug cartel led by Gallino, a character portrayed by Andy Garcia. As Tommy struggles with these issues, he also has to deal with his personal life, which is just as messy. His ex-wife Angela (Ali Larter), his daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph), and his son Cooper (Jacob Lofland) are each contributing their own challenges, with Cooper being involved in a turbulent relationship with Ariana (Paulina Chávez), a grieving widow.

Even though Paramount+ hasn't confirmed a second season, rumors are swirling that it's already in the works. In an interview from May 2024, Demi Moore, who plays Cami Miller, Monty's widow, hinted that filming for Season 2 might begin in early 2025. Given the success of the first season and the unresolved storylines, it seems nearly certain that "Landman" will return, with many of the main cast members expected to reprise their roles.
If production kicks off in early 2025, we could see "Landman" Season 2 by late 2025 or early 2026. The cast is set to return, including Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy, Demi Moore as Cami, and Ali Larter as Angela. Fans can also look forward to more of Kayla Wallace’s Rebecca, the tough lawyer involved in M-Tex’s high-stakes operations. The character of Gallino, played by Andy Garcia, will undoubtedly play a major role in the unfolding drama as well, considering the dangerous partnership that’s been set up between him and Tommy.
Though Season 1 is based on the "Boomtown" podcast, created by Christian Wallace, there’s plenty more to explore in the oil industry’s shadowy world. As the series evolves, we can expect deeper character developments, new alliances, and fresh challenges that will keep fans hooked.
So, while we await official confirmation from Paramount+, everything points toward the return of "Landman" for a highly anticipated second season. If you haven't watched Season 1 yet, now is the perfect time to catch up before the drama picks up again. The oil fields are waiting, and Tommy Norris’s fight to keep his life—and the company—intact is far from over.
