Hamza Igamane's Hat-Trick Shines as Rangers Draw 3-3 with Hibernian in Thriller
In a gripping encounter at Easter Road, Rangers were held to a 3-3 draw by Hibernian, despite a brilliant performance from Hamza Igamane, who netted a sensational hat-trick. The 22-year-old Moroccan forward has been in incredible form since his summer move to Rangers, and this match showcased his full range of talents. Igamane's goals, a left-foot strike, a powerful header, and a composed right-foot finish, demonstrated his sharp instinct in front of goal, but unfortunately, his efforts weren't enough to secure the three points for his team.
The match started in spectacular fashion for Rangers. Igamane fired them into an early lead just four minutes in, calmly finishing from an Ianis Hagi cross. It was a dream start for Philippe Clement’s side, who continued to dominate in the early exchanges. Only 15 minutes later, Igamane doubled his tally, rising highest to meet Nedim Bajrami’s cross with a powerful header that left Hibernian goalkeeper Jordan Smith with no chance. At this point, it looked like Rangers were on their way to an easy victory. However, Hibernian had other plans.

Hibs responded with determination, and their efforts paid off when Martin Boyle pulled one back in the 32nd minute, firing home a low strike from the edge of the box after a well-worked set-piece. The home side's confidence grew, and just before the hour mark, they were awarded a penalty after Ianis Hagi fouled Josh Campbell in the box. Boyle, cool as ever, slotted the penalty home to bring the score level at 2-2.
Rangers regained the lead in the 70th minute thanks to a well-executed finish from Igamane, who completed his perfect hat-trick after receiving a pass from Vaclav Cerny. However, just when it seemed like the game was slipping away from Hibernian, Rocky Bushiri emerged as the hero for the hosts. In the dying moments of the match, he scored a late header from a corner to level things up at 3-3, salvaging a draw for his side.
The draw extended Hibernian's unbeaten run in the Premiership to six matches, while Rangers will be disappointed with the result, especially given their commanding start to the game. Despite Igamane’s brilliance, Rangers have now dropped points in three consecutive away matches, and they remain 10 points adrift of Celtic at the top of the table.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement expressed frustration after the match, particularly about the penalty decision, which he felt was an unfair outcome in a key moment of the game. Hibs manager David Gray, on the other hand, was proud of his team’s resilience, pointing to their second-half performance as a demonstration of their character and fight.
Ultimately, it was a game full of twists and turns, with Igamane’s hat-trick shining as the standout individual performance. The match was a perfect showcase of the unpredictability and drama that Scottish Premiership football can deliver, leaving both teams with plenty to think about as they look ahead to their next challenges.
