James Harden's 40-Point Performance Propels Clippers Past Bucks, Ending Their 5-Game Streak
James Harden delivered a stunning performance on Saturday night, leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a 127-117 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Harden scored a season-high 40 points, helping the Clippers snap the Bucks' impressive five-game win streak. This was a significant win for the Clippers, who had been struggling in recent matchups against Milwaukee.
Harden's dominant display was crucial, as the Clippers overcame the combined force of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Antetokounmpo had a phenomenal night, finishing with 36 points and 13 rebounds, making 12 of 15 free throws. Lillard was just as spectacular, contributing 29 points and achieving a triple-double with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, marking his second consecutive triple-double in as many days. Despite their outstanding performances, the Bucks couldn’t maintain their momentum in the face of Harden’s explosive second-half performance.

The game started with the Bucks holding a solid lead, going into halftime up by 11 points. However, Harden took control in the third quarter, scoring 17 points, including an incredible 15-point run to close out the period. Norman Powell also played a pivotal role, adding 33 points to the scoreboard, while Kawhi Leonard chipped in with 18 points.
In the final frame, the Bucks tried to recover, but the Clippers had the momentum. Powell’s powerful dunk ignited a 14-0 run, and Harden capped it off with a critical three-pointer, putting the Clippers up by 12 points at 112-100. This was enough to seal the win for Los Angeles, despite the Bucks' best efforts to mount a comeback.
The victory marked a crucial turning point for the Clippers, who had been struggling with a four-game losing streak to the Bucks. It also served as a reminder of Harden's ability to take over games when needed. As for the Bucks, the loss dropped them to 8-11 on the road, and they were held well below their usual high-scoring performances, averaging 126 points per game.
The Clippers shot flawlessly from the free-throw line, hitting all 28 of their attempts in a game that was tied 17 times. With this impressive win, the Clippers improved to a 26-19 record for the season. The Bucks will now look to bounce back in their next game against Utah, while the Clippers will head to Phoenix for a four-game road trip starting Monday night.
