Alison Hammond Hints at Exciting Career Move Beyond This Morning
Alison Hammond is not slowing down anytime soon! With her milestone 50th birthday just around the corner, the beloved This Morning host has dropped a major hint about her next big career move—and it's one that could see her joining the ranks of some legendary TV presenters.
Alison, who has recently been busy with her BBC travel series Florida Unpacked alongside her son Aidan, has revealed that she has her sights set on hosting Comic Relief . Following in the footsteps of Sir Lenny Henry, David Tennant, and Romesh Ranganathan, she’s eyeing the opportunity to bring her signature energy and warmth to the iconic charity event. Speaking to OK! magazine, she admitted:

"Maybe hosting Comic Relief one day would be good. But honestly? I am happy where I am in life."
That being said, she also made it clear that after years in the spotlight, she’s prioritizing some much-needed rest and relaxation. “R-E-S-T,” she emphasized, revealing that she wants to take more holidays and enjoy life outside of the demanding world of television.
Despite this, Alison has been anything but idle. Her latest series Florida Unpacked has taken her and Aidan on an adventure across the Sunshine State, showcasing everything from stunning beaches to hidden gems. The mother-son duo share an unbreakable bond, something that has only strengthened after the passing of Alison’s mother in 2020.
“It was always the three of us,” she reflected. “We’ve been through the heartache of losing Mum together, and that was tough. There have been ups and downs, and Aidan’s seen them all. We’ll always have that bond.”
Though she’s playing it cool about turning 50, Alison is still in the celebratory mood—just not for herself. She recently marked the birthday of her makeup artist, Mikey Phillips, with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, and fans couldn’t get enough of her spontaneous singalong. But while she enjoys these lighthearted moments, she’s also been making waves on the stage, recently wrapping up her run as the Magical Mermaid in Peter Pan at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
And if that wasn’t enough, she’s also gearing up for another exciting project—her brand-new Sky TV podcast, Smart TV with Alison Hammond . Launching on her birthday, the show will see her and co-host Matt Crosby chat with celebrity guests about their perfect night in. Fans can expect appearances from the likes of Richard E Grant, Prue Leith, Olivia Attwood, and Aisling Bea.
So, while Alison might be talking about rest, her schedule tells a very different story! Whether it’s travel shows, theater performances, or podcasting, she’s proving yet again why she remains one of the most beloved personalities on British television. And with Comic Relief potentially in her future, it looks like there’s still plenty more to come from Alison Hammond.
