Cooper Kupp's Potential Trade Destinations: Where Will the All-Pro WR Land?

Cooper Kupp, the former All-Pro wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, is officially on the trade block. In a recent social media post, Kupp revealed that the Rams are seeking to move him, a decision he disagrees with but understands is part of the business. The 31-year-old expressed pride in his time with the Rams, including his Super Bowl MVP performance, but made it clear that he's motivated and ready to continue his career elsewhere. This news has sent ripples across the NFL, with many teams now considering the prospect of acquiring the dynamic receiver.

Kupp, who was drafted by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, quickly became a key player in their offense. He helped lead the Rams to the Super Bowl in 2018, and in 2021, he had one of the best seasons ever by a wide receiver. He won the NFL’s triple crown, leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and touchdowns (16). His postseason performance that year was equally stellar, and he capped it all off by catching the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, securing the Rams’ 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, Kupp's career has been slowed by injuries over the past couple of seasons. He has missed 18 games since the Rams won the Super Bowl, which may have contributed to the team's decision to part ways with him. Despite these setbacks, Kupp remains a highly valuable asset, and there are several teams that could benefit from his experience and elite playmaking ability.

One team that could be a strong contender for Kupp’s services is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were actively seeking a proven veteran wide receiver last year and would benefit from having Kupp as a reliable target for their quarterback, possibly Justin Fields. Kupp could also help elevate the development of young wide receiver George Pickens.

The Dallas Cowboys are another team that could make a move for Kupp. With Brandin Cooks potentially leaving in free agency, adding Kupp would strengthen their receiving corps, giving quarterback Dak Prescott another established weapon. Kupp’s presence would also free up more opportunities for standout receiver CeeDee Lamb.

The Baltimore Ravens could also be an intriguing destination for Kupp. Known for their aggressive free-agent moves, the Ravens would be able to integrate Kupp into an already potent offense that features MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. With other playmakers like Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, Kupp would provide even more firepower for Baltimore’s aerial attack.

The Denver Broncos might also be in the market for Kupp. Under head coach Sean Payton, the Broncos are looking to improve their offense. Kupp would offer a consistent presence and a great fit in Payton’s pass-heavy system. His ability to make plays over the middle of the field would pair well with quarterback Bo Nix, who showed promise last season.

Finally, the Buffalo Bills could look to add Kupp to their roster. A reliable veteran receiver like Kupp could become a safety valve for quarterback Josh Allen, especially on critical downs. His leadership and ability to make tough catches would provide a boost to Buffalo’s young receiving corps, which includes promising players like rookie Keon Coleman.

While Kupp’s injury history and salary may complicate his trade prospects, it’s clear that several playoff-contending teams are likely to pursue him if he is willing to renegotiate his contract. With his skill set, experience, and desire to win another championship, Kupp could be a game-changer for any team that acquires him.
