"House of David" Brings Epic Biblical Story to Life on Prime Video
The long-awaited biblical epic House of David is finally here, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. This grand retelling of one of the Bible’s most legendary figures, King David, takes viewers on an emotional and action-packed journey from humble shepherd boy to mighty ruler of Israel.
Actor Michael Iskander takes on the iconic role of David, a challenge he admits was both thrilling and intimidating. "It’s scary because there’s so much pressure," he shared with CBN News. "There are plenty of people who could have played this role, and I just feel lucky to be the one." His deep admiration for David’s story and his inspiration from The Chosen played a key role in his preparation for the part.
One of the most powerful lessons Iskander took from portraying David is courage. "David never runs from his fears—he faces them head-on. That’s something we all need to learn," he reflected. "Even when we’re scared, we should stand up to our giants."

The series was brought to life by filmmakers Jon Erwin ( Jesus Revolution , I Can Only Imagine ) and Jon Gunn ( The Case for Christ , I Still Believe ). They were deeply committed to telling the story with both emotional depth and biblical accuracy. "We wanted to honor the heart of the story while making it relatable," Gunn explained. "The Bible gives us an overview, but our job was to fill in the details in a way that remains true to its essence."
Adding to the epic scale of the series, bodybuilder and actor Martyn Ford plays the fearsome Goliath. His performance aims to give depth to the infamous giant, portraying him not just as a villain but as a warrior with his own backstory and motivations.
Music plays a major role in House of David as well, with an incredible soundtrack featuring Christian music icons like for KING & COUNTRY , Tori Kelly , Chris Tomlin , and Lecrae . Their songs explore themes of faith, perseverance, and triumph, mirroring David’s incredible journey.
The first three episodes of House of David are now available on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly. Whether you're a longtime fan of biblical stories or just love an inspiring underdog tale, this series promises a powerful, faith-filled experience that brings the story of David to life like never before.
