Kumar Vishwas' Wife’s Tears and the Shocking Delhi Election Results
The political landscape in Delhi has taken a dramatic turn, and emotions are running high. As the results of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections came in, one moment stood out—Kumar Vishwas, a former AAP leader and renowned poet, revealed that his wife broke into tears upon hearing the news of Manish Sisodia’s defeat. But here’s the twist—it wasn’t out of sympathy.
Manish Sisodia, once a key figure in Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), lost his Jungpura seat to BJP candidate Tarvinder Singh Marwah. This loss was more than just another election result; it marked the downfall of a leader who had once been at the heart of Delhi’s governance. Kumar Vishwas, reflecting on the moment, recalled a past conversation between his wife and Sisodia. She had once told him, “Bhaiya, you are not always going to be in power.” To which Sisodia had arrogantly responded, “Abhi toh hai” (I am in power now). That statement, once spoken with confidence, now stands in stark contrast to today’s reality.

Vishwas didn’t hold back in his remarks. He took the opportunity to remind people of what he called the arrogance of AAP leaders and how power had blinded them. He congratulated the BJP on their victory and expressed hope that they would work for the people of Delhi. He also sent a strong message to AAP workers, urging them to reflect on their journey and recognize how their dreams had been used for someone else’s ambitions.
The Delhi elections of 2025 have completely changed the city’s political landscape. With the BJP securing 48 seats and AAP managing only 22, the message from the people is clear. The Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi, failed to win a single seat for the third consecutive election. Even Arvind Kejriwal himself suffered a shocking defeat, losing his New Delhi seat to BJP’s Parvesh Verma.
This result comes after a tumultuous year for AAP. Kejriwal had been arrested in 2024 in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam, spending five months in jail before securing conditional bail from the Supreme Court. He resigned as Chief Minister in September 2024, declaring that he would return only after earning the people's "certificate of honesty." Now, with this crushing defeat, that possibility seems out of reach.
The BJP’s campaign capitalized on issues like the so-called "Sheesh Mahal"—the luxurious home allegedly built for Kejriwal using public funds. This, along with the corruption allegations against AAP leaders, seems to have resonated with voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing party workers after the win, emphasized that the people of Delhi had chosen "development and good governance" over empty promises.
Delhi’s political future now lies in the hands of the BJP. As celebrations continue among BJP supporters, the question remains—will they deliver on their promises, or will history repeat itself with another shift in power? Only time will tell.
