Beverley confidently claimed that Austin Reaves might be the best third option in the league right now. That’s a bold take, considering the talent spread across the NBA, but he backed it up with Reaves’ strong performances. In 47 games this season, Reaves has been putting up 19.1 points per game while shooting 44.6% from the field. Those are impressive numbers for a third option, and it’s clear he’s thriving in his role alongside the newly acquired Luka Dončić and superstar LeBron James.
But Beverley didn’t stop there. He also gave a major shoutout to Rui Hachimura, calling him potentially the best fourth option in the NBA. Hachimura’s season averages—13.4 points per game on an efficient 51% shooting—already speak to his impact. However, in his last eight games, he’s taken things to another level, averaging 18.9 points on a scorching 59.2% shooting. That kind of production from a fourth option is rare and exactly why Beverley is so high on him.
With the Lakers making a push for their 18th championship after shaking up the roster at the trade deadline, the excitement around the team is palpable.
