PlayStation State of Play February 2025 – Biggest Reveals and Surprises!

Hey everyone! It’s a big day for PlayStation fans— State of Play is back, and today’s showcase was packed with exciting game reveals, fresh trailers, and some unexpected surprises. If you missed the live event, don’t worry—I’ve got all the highlights for you right here!

First things first, Sony kicked off 2025 with a 40-minute-long State of Play , giving us a closer look at some of the biggest upcoming PlayStation 5 titles. While some expected heavy hitters like Ghost of Yōtei and Assassin’s Creed Shadows were absent, there was still plenty to get hyped about.

One of the biggest surprises? Housemarque’s new game, Saros . The studio behind Returnal is back with another intense shooter, set to release in 2026. If you loved the fast-paced, roguelike action of Returnal , this one is definitely on your radar.

Another major announcement was the remaster of Days Gone , launching on April 25th for PS5. This updated version includes new gameplay modes like permadeath and speedrun challenges. If you already own the PS4 version, you can upgrade for just $10—same deal for PC players.

Horror fans got their share of the spotlight too, with a new Five Nights at Freddy’s game, Secret of the Mimic . It’s set to launch on June 13th , and if the trailer is any indication, we’re in for another terrifying round of animatronic nightmares.

One of the more intriguing reveals was Q-Games’ Dreams of Another . Unlike traditional shooters, this game lets you rebuild the world with your shots instead of destroying it. It’s a fresh and unique concept, and I’m curious to see how it plays out when it launches later this year.

Oh, and guess what? Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater finally got a release date— August 28, 2025 . If you’ve been waiting for this remake, mark your calendars because it’s officially happening.

More big names? Borderlands 4 is dropping on September 23rd , and Sega is reviving the Shinobi franchise with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance , coming August 29th . Meanwhile, Capcom teased more of its upcoming Onimusha title, and Monster Hunter Wilds got a stunning new gameplay trailer.

And let’s not forget Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds , which—yeah, we all have the same question: Why does Sonic need a car? But hey, it looks fun, and it’s coming out later this year.

Overall, it was an exciting State of Play , giving us a mix of nostalgia, new IPs, and plenty to look forward to in 2025 and beyond. What was your favorite reveal? Let me know what you’re most excited about!
