Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps , has landed in hot water after making a controversial remark on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent . The YouTuber, who enjoys a massive following, faced massive criticism for his inappropriate question to a contestant, which many found vulgar and offensive.

During the show, Allahbadia posed a disturbing question:
"Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?"

The comment, which was met with laughter on set, quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among viewers and public figures alike. Many criticized the lack of responsibility in digital content creation and the normalization of inappropriate humor under the guise of entertainment.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reacted strongly, stating that while he had not seen the clip, he was informed that the remark was "very vulgar" . He warned that action would be taken against those crossing the limits of decency, emphasizing that while freedom of speech is important, it should not encroach on societal values.

The controversy escalated further when two Mumbai-based lawyers filed an official complaint against Allahbadia and other comedians involved in the show. They called for legal action, arguing that such remarks were disrespectful and should not be normalized in public discourse. The complaint was sent to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission, demanding accountability.

Prominent journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra also voiced his disappointment, calling out content creators who prioritize "perversion over responsibility" . He pointed out that this kind of content, which is easily accessible to children, reflects a larger issue in India’s digital space—where shock value and crass humor are rewarded with views and engagement.

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate joined the criticism, calling the remark "not creative but perverted" . She highlighted the worrying trend of such content being met with applause instead of condemnation.

The backlash has also extended to Bollywood, with some social media users questioning why actor Amitabh Bachchan had previously featured such content creators on Kaun Banega Crorepati . Others called for stricter regulations to ensure responsible content creation on platforms that reach millions of young audiences.

As of now, Ranveer Allahbadia has not responded to the controversy. Whether this backlash will have long-term consequences for his career or the digital entertainment industry remains to be seen. However, this incident has reignited an important debate—where do we draw the line between humor and indecency? And how much responsibility do influencers and content creators bear in shaping the cultural narrative?
