Ruby Dhalla Disqualified from Canada PM Race – Claims ‘Establishment Felt Threatened’
Indian-origin politician Ruby Dhalla has been disqualified from the Liberal Party leadership race in Canada, a decision she has described as both “shocking” and “deeply disappointing.” Dhalla, a former Member of Parliament for Brampton-Springdale from 2004 to 2011, expressed her outrage over the move, claiming that the political establishment felt threatened by her growing support.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Dhalla revealed that she was informed of her disqualification by the Liberal Party, but before she could officially respond, the news was already leaked to the media. She dismissed the allegations against her as "false and fabricated," implying that the party used various tactics to remove her from the race. “One day it was foreign interference, another day campaign violations—anything to stop me from debating Carney and winning,” she said, referencing Mark Carney, another key figure in the race.

Dhalla, who entered the leadership contest last month, has been vocal about her policies, particularly her stance on deporting illegal immigrants. Despite her removal from the race, she has vowed to continue advocating for Canadians and standing firm on her principles. "I will continue to stand up for Canadians & fight for Canada," she declared.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dhalla first pursued a career as a chiropractor before transitioning into politics. She describes herself as a self-made entrepreneur and a dedicated supporter of the Liberal Party. Her political career began during the era of former Prime Minister Paul Martin, and she has remained a notable figure in Canadian politics.
While her disqualification has sparked debate, Dhalla remains undeterred. She insists that her message was resonating with the people and that her removal only confirms the fear she instilled in the political establishment. What happens next remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Ruby Dhalla is not backing down.
