Sergio Ramos, a Step Closer to Joining Rayados de Monterrey
The legendary Spanish defender Sergio Ramos is on the verge of a move to Rayados de Monterrey, but there's still one last hurdle—his medical examination. The veteran center-back, who has been a free agent since leaving Sevilla at the end of last season, is expected to undergo medical tests in Madrid before finalizing his contract with the Mexican club.
While many expected him to travel to Mexico immediately, Ramos is taking his time, knowing that, as a free agent, he can sign at any moment without pressure. His last competitive match was on May 26, 2024, when Sevilla faced Barcelona in LaLiga. Since then, he has remained in top physical shape, as seen in his social media updates, where he regularly shares his intense training routines.

Rayados’ head coach, MartÃn Demichelis, is excited about the potential arrival of Ramos, highlighting the impact such a signing would have on Liga MX. "Can you imagine what it would mean for the league? It would be an honor for all of us. Hopefully, it happens," Demichelis stated in a press conference.
If the deal goes through, Ramos will join fellow Spaniards Óliver Torres and Sergio Canales in Monterrey, further strengthening an already competitive squad. With a career spanning over two decades, including iconic stints at Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, Ramos would bring invaluable leadership and experience to Rayados.
At 38 years old, he remains a formidable presence on the pitch, known for his defensive prowess, aerial ability, and unmatched competitive spirit. His move to Mexico could be a game-changer for Liga MX, attracting more international attention and setting a new standard for the league.
Now, all eyes are on the final medical tests. If all goes well, we could soon see Sergio Ramos donning the Rayados jersey and making his mark in Mexican football.
