His record label, FU MUSIC, announced that he peacefully left this world on the morning of February 21, 2025, after battling an illness for five years. Despite his struggles, he remained positive, continuing to create and inspire. His music and artistic contributions will forever be a treasure to his fans.

Khalil Fong was born in 1983 in Hawaii and later grew up in Shanghai and Hong Kong. From an early age, he was immersed in music, heavily influenced by legends like Stevie Wonder, Boyz II Men, and Babyface. His signature blend of R&B, soul, and jazz set him apart, earning him comparisons to artists like Jay Chou and David Tao. Some of his most beloved hits, including Love Song , Three People’s Trip , and Red Bean , became timeless classics in the Chinese music scene.
In 2010, Khalil was hospitalized multiple times due to pneumothorax, a condition affecting his lungs. When he made a comeback in 2024, he shared that he had been on a journey of recovery. However, fate had other plans. His sudden departure has left fans and fellow musicians devastated, mourning the loss of a true talent who revolutionized Chinese R&B.
More than just a singer, Khalil was also a producer, actor, and even an author of graphic novels. He lived for his art, constantly pushing boundaries. His 2017 victory at the Golden Melody Awards, where he won Best Male Singer, was a testament to his dedication and talent. He once said, "Music has given me so much; I just want to give back to it."
