Céline Dion Death Hoax Goes Viral—Again—But She’s Very Much Alive
So, here we are again. Another round of “Céline Dion has died” rumors is making waves online—and once more, it’s been proven completely false. This time, the hoax popped up in early August 2025, with a handful of Facebook pages sharing a misleading post claiming Céline had passed away on or just before August 3rd. The post even included a fake “breaking news” graphic and the years “1968–2025,” which obviously sparked concern.
But here’s the thing: none of it is true.

These posts were traced back to unreliable sources—random Facebook pages like “Inspirational Quotes Page” and even a post from comedian Karlous Miller’s page. What makes it trickier is that some of these posts were created as what’s called “dark posts,” meaning they’re only shown to targeted users and don’t appear publicly on the poster’s page. Sneaky, right?
Now, if Céline Dion—a global superstar—had really passed away, credible news outlets around the world would be all over it. But guess what? A quick check across major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo shows no legitimate reports confirming the rumor. Zero. Nothing. And on top of that, her own official social media accounts were active the day after the hoax started spreading. She even shared some throwback content from one of her past performances on August 4th.
This isn’t the first time Céline’s been the target of a death hoax. Back in 2019, a fake CNN video claimed she had died, but that video was actually an altered clip originally about Anthony Bourdain. Her team quickly shut that down too. Then, in 2023, after she publicly revealed her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome—a rare neurological disorder that affects her muscles—a new wave of false rumors started up again.
But despite battling a serious condition, Céline Dion hasn’t gone anywhere. In fact, 2025 has been a pretty active year for her. She appeared in a heartfelt video for Eurovision in May, was spotted enjoying a Coldplay concert in Vegas in June, and in July, she dropped a remix of her classic song “A New Day Has Come” with Sebastian Ingrosso from Swedish House Mafia. She even posted some behind-the-scenes footage in the studio, proving she’s still got that spark.
So yeah—Céline Dion is very much alive, and if anything, she’s reminding us all that she’s not done yet. Next time you see a dramatic headline online, maybe take a beat and double-check before hitting share.
