Luisa Zissman’s Hilarious Rant on the Struggles of Being a ‘Girl Mum’
Let’s talk about something that every parent of teenage girls can relate to—having your things mysteriously disappear, only to be found in your daughter’s room! Reality star and entrepreneur Luisa Zissman recently let loose on her podcast, ‘LuAnna,’ about the most frustrating part of raising girls, and honestly, it’s hilarious and completely relatable.
Luisa, who has three daughters, including her 14-year-old, Dixie, didn’t hold back when she vented about how expensive it is to be a ‘girl mum.’ From beauty products to tech gadgets, everything she owns somehow finds its way into her daughter’s possession—and it’s costing her hundreds of pounds!

“It’s my f ing children taking my s !” she ranted, making it clear that she’s fed up. She explained how she recently bought one of those sticky phone holders for recording content, only for it to disappear. And, of course, where did it turn up? “Dixie’s like, ‘Oh, by the way, they’re in my room,’” Luisa recalled, mimicking her daughter’s casual tone.
And it doesn’t stop there—her beauty products are vanishing, too! “I went to put dry shampoo in my hair this morning. Guess what? A whole new bottle of dry shampoo is no longer in my bathroom cupboard,” she exclaimed, her frustration peaking. She even joked about putting a lock on her bedroom door just to keep her things safe.
Her co-host, Anna Williamson, who’s also a mum, totally understood the struggle. “You’ve got three girls, Lou. You’ve got no hope!” she sympathized.
Luisa continued, explaining how her designer makeup, including a brand-new Chanel set, had mysteriously disappeared. “Teenage boys aren’t gonna rob my s***,” she pointed out, laughing at the irony. “They don’t want my dry shampoo. They don’t want my Chanel makeup. They don’t want my phone sucky thingies. It’s so f***ing annoying!”
The podcast clip, posted on TikTok, quickly racked up over 586,000 views, with parents flooding the comments with their own experiences. One user shared, “But heaven forbid you borrow anything of theirs. I borrowed a brow gel off my daughter, and you’d think I stole Christmas like the Grinch.” Another added, “I have a lock on my door, and she STILL manages to take my stuff.”
Luisa’s rant is something every mum of teenage girls can relate to—whether it’s makeup, clothes, or even phone chargers, if you have daughters, your stuff is never truly yours! And let’s be honest, we can’t even be mad about it for long because, at the end of the day, we love them—even if they are walking, talking, adorable thieves!
