Luka Dončić Shines, but Lakers Stumble Again Without LeBron
Another tough night for the Los Angeles Lakers, as they suffered their third consecutive loss, this time against the Milwaukee Bucks, falling 126-106. Even with Luka Dončić putting on a spectacular show, dropping 45 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, the Lakers couldn’t overcome the absence of LeBron James, who remains sidelined with a groin strain.
The game started with promise, as Dončić did everything he could to keep the Lakers competitive. Despite his dominant first-half performance—scoring 29 points—the Bucks steadily built a lead. Milwaukee took control in the second quarter, stretching the gap to double digits before the Lakers responded with a 10-0 run, fueled by Dončić’s signature step-back three-pointer, bringing them within just two points. However, the Bucks quickly regained momentum and went into halftime leading 71-63.

After the break, the Lakers struggled to keep up. The Bucks capitalized on their depth, pushing their lead to 20 points by the end of the third quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo, despite a slow start, finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Kevin Porter Jr. came off the bench to lead Milwaukee with 25 points, including six three-pointers. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the gap was simply too wide for Los Angeles to bridge.
Dončić’s performance was undoubtedly the highlight for Lakers fans, as he continues to prove himself as a superstar in purple and gold. However, without LeBron orchestrating the offense and providing leadership on the court, the team struggled to find a rhythm. This loss marks the second straight game without James, who is expected to be out for at least another week or two. With a tough stretch ahead—including two matchups against the Denver Nuggets—the Lakers will need to figure out how to stay afloat in his absence.
