Big news for Disney fans! Walt Disney World is gearing up for an exciting summer in 2025, and if you're planning a trip with young kids, you're in for a treat. From May 27 through September 1, Disney is rolling out brand-new kid-friendly zones, character experiences, and entertainment options to make this summer more magical than ever.
According to Jason Kirk, Senior Vice President of Operations at Walt Disney World, the focus is on providing simple yet fun entertainment designed for families. “There will be areas where guests can go, have fun, and relax,” Kirk shared during a Disney panel. So, what exactly can guests expect this summer? Let’s dive in!

First up, Magic Kingdom is introducing kid zones in Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland. Storybook Circus will feature extra activities tailored specifically for younger guests, while Tomorrowland will have new experiences themed around Stitch—so expect some intergalactic fun! Over at EPCOT, Disney is launching a Goofy-hosted party and play space inside CommuniCore Hall following the Flower and Garden Festival. This area will include interactive games, music, dancing, and even water play to help families cool off in the summer heat.
Another exciting addition is more character access during early entry. Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels who take advantage of early theme park entry will have the chance to meet beloved Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie right after rope drop. This means more opportunities for kids to interact with their favorite Disney icons before the crowds pick up.
But that’s not all! Across the parks, Disney is planning surprise pop-up entertainment moments. These will include games, interactive adventures, and music-driven activities aimed at preschool and early elementary-aged children. While full details are still under wraps, Disney has promised more announcements as the summer season approaches.
Not everyone is on board with these changes, though. Some Disney fans are voicing concerns about previously quiet areas becoming busy with new kid zones, while others worry that these additions are just temporary offerings to fill gaps before bigger attractions launch. However, many parents are thrilled to see more activities geared toward younger guests, ensuring that little ones have just as much fun as the thrill-seekers in their families.
Disney’s move to enhance experiences for families with small children also comes alongside other summer 2025 deals, including discounted kids' tickets and special vacation packages. Whether you’re a parent looking for more interactive experiences for your kids or just a Disney fan eager to see what’s next, this summer at Walt Disney World is shaping up to be one filled with magic, surprises, and plenty of fun!
