Starting Wednesday night, snowfall is expected to roll into west-central Alberta before making its way south and east. By Thursday morning, Edmonton is likely to get hit, and by the afternoon, places like Red Deer and Saskatoon could see some serious accumulation. The forecast suggests anywhere between 5 to 20 centimeters of snow in central Alberta, with some areas possibly getting as much as 25 centimeters by Friday morning.

Now, if you’re wondering about temperatures, brace yourself. Wednesday night will see lows around 0°C in Edmonton, dipping to -5°C on Thursday. Daytime highs will hover around 0°C on Thursday and -3°C on Friday. Saskatoon is expected to experience similar chilly conditions, so it’s time to pull out those winter coats and gloves again.

This late-season snowstorm could cause some travel headaches, so if you have plans to be on the road, be extra cautious. Roads could get slippery, and visibility might be reduced during heavy snowfall. If possible, avoid unnecessary travel, and if you must drive, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready—good tires, full tank of gas, and an emergency kit just in case.

As always, stay tuned to weather updates, and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. Winter isn’t giving up just yet, so stay safe and stay warm!
