Tragic Crash on Highway 1A Near Cochrane Claims One Life, Injures Two
A devastating accident on Highway 1A, just east of Cochrane, has left one person dead and two others seriously injured, causing significant disruptions and heartbreak for the community. According to the RCMP, the collision involved two vehicles and resulted in the unfortunate death of a 35-year-old man from Calgary. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) reported that they received a distress call around 5:20 a.m., rushing to the scene to find both vehicles heavily damaged. The impact was so severe that STARS Air Ambulance was deployed to transport one of the injured individuals, who was in critical condition, to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary. The third victim was also rushed to the hospital with serious but stable injuries.

Authorities shut down Highway 1A between the Gleneagles Drive exits for several hours while investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
