Valorant’s New Agent Waylay Brings Insane Double Dash Ability
Alright, let's talk about Valorant’s newest agent, Waylay. Riot Games just revealed her, and she’s already making waves with one of the craziest movement abilities we’ve ever seen in the game. Waylay is Agent 28, following Tejo, who dropped just a few weeks ago. But unlike some of the more complex agents we’ve been getting lately, Waylay is all about speed and control. And trust me, her mobility is on another level.
The standout ability? Light Speed. This move gives Waylay a double dash , and it’s fast—like, ridiculously fast. The first dash can even send her into the air, making her more mobile than Jett. If you've ever thought Jett was hard to hit, imagine someone dashing twice in an instant, covering a huge amount of space. From what we’ve seen so far, this ability is going to open up some insane outplays.
Now, while her movement is her biggest strength, Waylay isn’t just about zipping around. She also introduces a brand-new debuff called Hindering , which affects almost everything—fire rate, recoil recovery, reload speed, equip time, movement speed, and even jump speed. Basically, if you get hit by it, you’re slowed down in every way possible. This makes her a nightmare for fast-paced agents like Jett and Raze, and it could seriously shake up the current meta.

Riot’s Game Designer, June Cuervo, mentioned that they wanted to create a fresh take on the "space-taking duelist" role, something we haven't really seen since Valorant’s launch. Jett and Raze have been the go-to aggressive duelists for a while, but Waylay is designed to bring something new to that category. She can make aggressive plays, reposition quickly, and still have enough tools to create space for her team without immediately throwing her life away.
Her full ability kit looks solid too:
- Refract lets her teleport back to a beacon, making her even harder to track.
- Saturate throws a cluster of light that explodes, applying the Hindering debuff to anyone caught inside.
- Convergent Paths creates an afterimage of herself that emits a light beam—after a brief delay, it expands and also applies Hindering.
Waylay is dropping March 5 , alongside Valorant’s latest patch, which will also introduce new Cyrax skins. With her movement and debuff abilities, she’s set to change the way we think about duelists in the game. So, the big question is—will she replace Jett as the top movement agent? Or will she create an entirely new playstyle? We’ll find out soon!
