Gujarat Titans Dominate Rajasthan Royals to Claim Top Spot in IPL 2025
What a performance that was from the Gujarat Titans! If you missed the GT vs RR clash last night, you missed one of the most commanding wins of IPL 2025 so far. The Titans absolutely steamrolled the Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and it was a game that had everything — big runs, sharp bowling, and some electric moments on the field.
Batting first, Gujarat Titans came out swinging. The star of the night was Sai Sudharsan, who played a sensational knock of 82 off just 53 balls. He was in complete control, timing everything with finesse and power. Alongside him, Shahrukh Khan added a fiery 36 from 20 deliveries, and there were impactful cameos from Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia as well. They finished with a massive 217 for 6 on the board, setting the tone with intent and aggression. Even though Rajasthan Royals had Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma trying to keep things tight, GT’s batters were just too good.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals got off to a shaky start and never really recovered. Yashasvi Jaiswal fell early, and even though Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer tried to pull things back with some impressive strokeplay, the chase never got out of second gear. Hetmyer did manage a quickfire 52, and Samson chipped in with 41, but once they were dismissed, it was game over.
The Gujarat bowlers were absolutely clinical. Prasidh Krishna stood out with 3 wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs, while Rashid Khan and R Sai Kishore picked up two apiece, finding their rhythm right when it mattered. They bowled as a unit, kept the pressure on, and made sure there was no late drama.
By the 19.2 over mark, Rajasthan were bowled out for 159, and Gujarat walked away with a 58-run win — a statement victory if there ever was one. With this win, GT jumped to the top of the points table, and it’s clear that they’re not here to just participate — they’re here to dominate.
This match had the drama, the heat (quite literally, with that 44°C Ahmedabad weather!), and the fireworks you expect from the IPL. And for GT fans, it was a night to remember. If the Titans keep up this kind of all-round display, they’re definitely strong contenders for the title this year.
