Tony Hadley Fears His Wife May Never Forgive Him for Skipping Their Honeymoon

So, here’s something you don’t hear every day—Spandau Ballet legend Tony Hadley has opened up about a surprisingly personal worry, and honestly, it’s kind of endearing. The iconic singer recently admitted that he’s still not taken his wife, Alison Evers, on their honeymoon—and it’s been 15 years since they got married! Yep, fifteen. And now, he’s getting a bit concerned that she might never let him off the hook for it.

Tony, who’s set to appear on James Martin’s Saturday Morning cook show, spoke candidly about the situation. He confessed that Alison regularly reminds him of the long-overdue trip. Her dream destination? The Maldives. But here’s the twist—Tony’s not entirely sold on it. He admitted he’s worried he might get a bit bored, although he did acknowledge the diving there is supposed to be spectacular. Still, he knows deep down that if he doesn’t make it happen, he might be stuck in the marital doghouse indefinitely.

It’s not that he doesn’t care—it’s more that life, career, and the demands of being a rock star kind of took over. He’s said it himself: rock and roll is a selfish business. Between touring, promoting, and writing music, it’s easy to see how personal plans can get shelved. But he’s trying to change that. These days, he says he’s learning not to let work consume every aspect of his life and wants to prioritise family time more.

Despite the no-honeymoon situation, Tony speaks incredibly highly of Alison. In a recent interview, he praised her for the amazing job she’s done raising their two daughters, Zara and Genevieve. He even admitted he never expected to have children later in life, but now calls it a “rewarding” experience. There’s something really touching about the way he talks about the bond he has with his girls—they’re always running up for hugs from dad, and even his older kids from his previous marriage get along beautifully with the younger ones.

Speaking of his past, Tony was previously married to Leonie Hadley, and they share three grown-up children together. He’s been honest about how the demands of his music career impacted that relationship. Constant touring, long stretches away—it’s a lot to manage when you’re trying to hold down a family life.

These days, Tony and Alison have swapped the chaos of city life for the calm of Oxfordshire. He says moving there was the best decision he ever made. The community is close-knit, the schools are fantastic, and there’s just a peacefulness you don’t get in London. Alison was sceptical at first, worried they’d end up moving back to the capital. But according to Tony, that day never came—and it never will.

Still, the honeymoon conversation lingers. And with Tony admitting that he’s “100 percent” going to make it happen, maybe it’s just a matter of time. Let’s hope Alison finally gets her dream trip to the Maldives—and Tony gets forgiven once and for all.
