King of the Hill Revival Returns With Adult Bobby and Familiar Faces

Hey folks, if you grew up quoting Hank Hill or laughing at Bobby's antics in the alley, you’re going to love this — King of the Hill is officially making its return, and yes, Bobby Hill is finally all grown up! Hulu has announced that the long-awaited revival of the iconic animated series is premiering on August 4, 2025 , and it’s bringing back a ton of familiar voices and that nostalgic Arlen, Texas charm we’ve missed for over a decade.

This new season is technically Season 14, and it picks up years after the original ended its run on Fox in 2010. It’s not just a reboot — it’s a continuation. Time has passed both in the real world and in the show’s timeline, and the characters have evolved along with it. One of the biggest changes? Bobby Hill is no longer the goofy middle schooler. Now he’s a grown-up, living in Dallas and following his passion as a chef, surrounded by familiar classmates like Connie, Joseph, and Chane.

Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy have been working overseas — yes, in Saudi Arabia of all places — building up their retirement fund. Now they’re back in Arlen, adjusting to how much their hometown has changed, while reconnecting with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. It’s going to be wild to see how their lives — and outlooks — have shifted over the years.

Now, there’s one bittersweet note. Johnny Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble, sadly passed away in 2023 after recording a few episodes. To honor his legacy, Toby Huss, a veteran voice actor from the original run, will be stepping in to complete Dale’s arc for this season. Huss had previously voiced Kahn and Cotton Hill, so he’s definitely got the chops to keep the spirit of Dale alive, even if it’ll be a little different.

The revival still features that iconic opening scene with the alleyway and theme song, but with a twist: we get a glimpse of time passing — the Hills moving out and then back into their home, mirroring real-life changes. It’s a clever nod to aging, to change, and to the resilience of family and friendships that have stood the test of time.

Executive producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are back on board, which means we’re in good hands. They’ve teamed up with showrunner Saladin Patterson and the folks at 20th Television Animation to make sure this revival doesn’t just rely on nostalgia but actually pushes the story forward in meaningful ways.

So, mark your calendars for August 4. Whether you're tuning in for some propane wisdom from Hank, life lessons from Peggy, or to see what kind of grown-up Bobby turned out to be, King of the Hill is gearing up to deliver a heartfelt, hilarious return. I tell you what — I can’t wait.
