Amber Alert Sparks Fears Over Idaho Teens’ Disappearance Tied to FLDS Sect

Hey everyone, I want to talk about something really serious that's been unfolding in Idaho and Utah. Two teenagers—13-year-old Allen Larand Fischer and his 15-year-old sister Rachelle Leray Fischer—have gone missing from Monteview, Idaho. An Amber Alert has been issued, and the concern is growing by the hour. Authorities believe these siblings may have been taken—or persuaded to leave—by members of a religious sect, the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or FLDS.

According to Idaho State Police, the kids disappeared last Sunday evening between 6 and 8 p.m., and it's feared they may be heading back to Trenton, Utah—a place they once called home and where FLDS has strong roots. Their mother, Elizabeth Roundy, has full legal custody and says she's heartbroken and deeply worried. She used to be part of the FLDS herself but left the group years ago and has since been labeled an apostate, someone rejected by the church. That label has essentially cut her off from her children in the eyes of the FLDS community.

Elizabeth said that when she returned from a Bible class that night, her kids were gone. She believes they may have been influenced by other siblings or FLDS members who are still loyal to the sect. What’s even more disturbing is that she suspects their departure might be linked to a so-called "revelation" from imprisoned FLDS leader Warren Jeffs. This man is serving a life sentence for horrific crimes involving the sexual abuse of underage girls, yet he still exerts control over his followers from behind bars.

Jeffs’ messages, reportedly shared with his followers as recently as 2022, call on them to “consecrate” their children to the church in preparation for the end times. There are even claims that these children are meant to help “build Zion” and then die to become spiritually pure. It’s deeply unsettling.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. The Fischers’ older sister, Elintra Dee Fischer, vanished in January 2023 and still hasn’t been found. Authorities and child protection organizations fear that these kids may be in real danger, not just physically but psychologically, caught in a belief system that exerts extreme control over its followers—especially the young.

The FBI and local law enforcement are investigating, and there's also a $5,000 reward being offered for information that leads to their safe return. If you have any information at all, please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

As a parent, a sibling, or just someone who cares about the safety of children, this is a story that hits hard. The influence of cult-like religious groups is real, and the toll it takes on families is heartbreaking. Let’s hope for a safe return for Allen and Rachelle—and keep spreading awareness until they’re found.
