Kelsey Parker Shares Heartbreaking News About Baby Son Phoenix
Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on some deeply emotional and heartbreaking news shared by Kelsey Parker. Many of you might know her as the widow of The Wanted’s Tom Parker, and as a podcast host who has openly navigated her grief, motherhood, and rebuilding life after loss. Now, she’s sadly faced another unimaginable tragedy—Kelsey has announced that her third child, her first with partner Will Lindsay, was stillborn.

In an emotional Instagram post, Kelsey revealed the devastating loss of her baby boy, whom they lovingly named Phoenix. Her caption read simply but powerfully: “Phoenix Parker-Lindsay, you will forever be loved.” Alongside those words, she shared a deeply moving poem titled For Phoenix, Born Sleeping, Forever Loved , which expressed the profound pain and silent love parents feel in moments like these. The poem captured the essence of grieving a life that never had the chance to begin outside the womb: “Born with wings, took silent flight… Though we never heard you cry, You’ll live in hearts that won't ask why.”
It’s hard to comprehend the weight of losing a child, especially after Kelsey had spoken with such warmth and anticipation just weeks earlier about her growing family. She had posted glowing photos from a family outing, proudly showing her baby bump, and shared her gratitude for Will—thanking him for his support and his love for her children, Aurelia and Bodhi, from her marriage with Tom.
Phoenix was to be a symbol of new beginnings for Kelsey and Will—a joyful chapter after the pain of losing Tom in 2022 to brain cancer. And while Phoenix’s life was heartbreakingly short, his presence has clearly left a permanent mark on their hearts. Kelsey’s openness reminds us all of the importance of talking about stillbirths—how they affect real families, how the grief lingers, and how essential support and compassion are during such times.
Stillbirth, defined in the UK as the loss of a baby after 24 weeks of pregnancy, happens in around 1 in every 250 births. For some families, the cause is known, and for others, it remains a painful mystery. What remains constant, however, is the need for space to grieve, to remember, and to honour the lives lost too soon.
Kelsey’s bravery in sharing her story allows us to hold space for those who have endured the same silent sorrow. Let’s keep her, Will, and their family in our thoughts—and remember baby Phoenix with love and light.
