Aldi Recalls Popular Dumplings Over Glass Contamination Fears
Hey, have you heard about the latest product recall from Aldi? It’s something that’s caught a lot of people’s attention—and for a very good reason. A popular frozen dumpling product sold at Aldi stores across Australia has been urgently recalled because it might contain fragments of glass. Yeah, you heard that right—glass.

The product in question is the Urban Eats Japanese Style Vegetable Gyoza , which comes in 750g packs. These were available in Aldi stores in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and the ACT. The affected batch has a best-before date of March 27, 2027. So, if you've got a pack of those sitting in your freezer, now’s the time to check.
Food Standards Australia issued the warning, saying that glass had been detected in some of the dumpling packs. They explained that consuming food contaminated with glass could cause serious illness or even injury. That’s not something anyone wants to risk just trying to enjoy dinner.
Shoppers are being urged not to eat the product under any circumstances. Instead, they’re advised to return the dumplings to the store where they bought them for a full refund. No receipt is needed—just bring the product back. And if you’ve already consumed any and feel unwell or notice anything unusual, it’s recommended that you seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Aldi has set up a dedicated Food Recall Hotline to help concerned customers. You can call 1800 709 993 for more details or check the Aldi website for the latest updates. It’s always frustrating when things like this happen, especially with items from trusted brands, but the recall is being taken seriously to ensure everyone's safety.
It’s a good reminder to always keep an eye on food recall alerts—they might seem rare, but when they do happen, they can be a big deal. So if you’ve bought dumplings from Aldi recently, especially that specific variety, take a minute to check your freezer and the packaging. Better safe than sorry, right?
