Kerry Dazzle as They Clinch 39th All-Ireland Title Over Donegal
Well, what a day it’s been at Croke Park! If you tuned in for the All-Ireland Final between Kerry and Donegal, you witnessed something special—a powerhouse performance from the Kingdom as they stormed to their 39th All-Ireland title , leaving Donegal chasing shadows for much of the match.
Kerry came flying out of the traps from the very first whistle. It wasn’t just a strong start—it was a statement. Within the first 20 minutes, they had already built a commanding 0-13 to 0-04 lead. You could sense from the off that Kerry weren’t here just to play—they came to dominate. Gavin White set the tone early, bursting through Donegal’s defence and setting up scores with ease. He even chipped in with three points of his own, but it was the midfield masterclass from Joe O’Connor and the ever-influential David Clifford that really stood out.

Clifford was simply unplayable at times, linking beautifully with his brother Paudie to carve through Donegal’s normally solid zonal defence. The space Kerry found in attack was frankly surprising—Donegal just couldn’t seem to adapt quickly enough. And to Kerry’s credit, they never stopped applying pressure.
Donegal, to be fair, didn’t roll over. After a difficult start, Michael Murphy stepped up with some well-taken points, and they managed to pull it back to within five points midway through the first half. But every time they looked like making a push, Kerry had an answer—whether it was Sean O’Shea converting frees, or Clifford landing another gem from distance.
The second half brought more urgency from Donegal. Their bench made an impact, and at one stage, they got within four points. But when Conor O’Donnell missed a crucial shot to cut the lead to a single score, Kerry went straight down the other end and responded through O’Shea again. That was the moment many felt the game had been put to bed.
The final flourish came in spectacular style—David Clifford, once again, created magic with a run down the left wing before slotting over a stunning point. And just before the whistle, Joe O’Connor capped it off by smashing the ball into the net, putting an exclamation mark on Kerry’s brilliance.
For manager Jack O’Connor, it’s now five All-Ireland titles across 11 seasons—a legendary feat. And for Kerry fans, this one might feel particularly sweet. They’d been written off earlier in the summer, but they tore through Ulster’s best and proved that class, when it clicks, is almost impossible to stop.
The Kingdom reigns again—and they did it in style.
