Louis Partridge Joins Netflix’s Star-StuddedPride and PrejudiceSeries
Netflix has just dropped some exciting news that’s got both period drama fans and Louis Partridge supporters buzzing. The streaming giant has officially unveiled the cast for its upcoming six-part limited series adaptation of Pride and Prejudice , and yes — Louis Partridge has joined the lineup as the infamous Mr. Wickham.
Now, if you’re familiar with Jane Austen’s timeless novel, you’ll know Mr. Wickham is a charming but ultimately shady character. Louis, known for his breakout roles in Enola Holmes and House of Guinness , is taking on this slippery persona — and let’s be honest, he’s got just the right blend of charisma and mischief to pull it off.

Alongside Partridge, the cast is absolutely stacked. We’ve got Emma Corrin — from The Crown and Nosferatu — playing Elizabeth Bennet, and Jack Lowden as the aloof but irresistible Mr. Darcy. Olivia Colman, Oscar winner and queen of literally everything, is stepping into the role of Mrs. Bennet. And Rufus Sewell, who’s been impressing lately in The Diplomat , is playing Mr. Bennet.
The first official image of the Bennet sisters has been released too, giving us a glimpse of the tone — classic, elegant, and clearly aiming to stay faithful to the original while breathing in new life. Newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery, both fresh from drama school, are making their debut as Mary and Kitty Bennet, which just adds a fresh energy to the familiar lineup.
The show is written by Dolly Alderton — yes, the same Dolly from Everything I Know About Love — and directed by Euros Lyn, known for his work on Heartstopper . That combo alone promises a modern sensitivity to character while preserving Austen’s signature wit and social insight.
Alderton has described this as a “faithful, classic” take on Austen’s work, calling Pride and Prejudice the blueprint for romantic comedies. She says she feels lucky to be part of the team retelling it for a new generation, and that’s exactly what this cast and creative team seems poised to do — make it feel timeless and timely, all at once.
Production is already underway in the UK, and with the cast this strong — including Fiona Shaw, Daryl McCormack, Jamie Demetriou, and Rhea Norwood — this version is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated adaptations yet. Louis Partridge as Wickham? That alone is worth tuning in for.
