Battlefield 6 Revealed: All-Out Warfare Returns This October
So, big news just dropped for fans of the Battlefield series— Battlefield 6 has officially been revealed, and it’s shaping up to be the most ambitious title in the franchise yet. EA and Battlefield Studios unveiled everything during a massive global multiplayer reveal event, and there’s a lot to talk about.
First off, Battlefield 6 is launching on October 10 , and it's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, the EA App, and Epic Games Store. But before that, we’re getting what’s being called the biggest Battlefield open beta ever , running across two weekends in August. If you’re eager to jump in early, you can even get access starting August 7 by tuning into select streamers playing the game.

The setting is gripping: it’s the year 2027 , and the world is teetering on the edge of total collapse. After a major assassination, European powers abandon NATO, the U.S. struggles to hold its influence, and a ruthless private military group called PAX ARMATA steps in to fill the vacuum. What remains of NATO is in shambles—and that’s the battleground you’re dropped into.
Gameplay-wise, things are getting a serious overhaul. There’s a brand-new Kinesthetic Combat System , which ramps up player movement and gunplay. Now, you can drag teammates to safety, mount weapons for better accuracy, and really take advantage of your surroundings. Destruction is back too, bigger and better, letting you alter the combat zone dynamically—so flanking, trapping, or escaping feels more strategic than ever.
The classic class system has also been revamped. You’ve got the core roles: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer—but now each has specific gadgets, signature weapons, and training to suit unique playstyles. Whether you're charging the frontlines or holding back to support your squad, there’s real depth here.
Multiplayer is launching with a full lineup of global maps, taking the fight to places like Egypt, Gibraltar, and New York. All your favorite modes are returning—Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush—plus faster-paced ones like Team and Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill. There’s even a new mode called Escalation , where teams battle to capture strategic control points under pressure.
And yes, Portal is back. This time it’s more powerful and easier to use, letting players build and share custom game modes—so community-created chaos is basically guaranteed.
According to the devs, this is a return to what made Battlefield iconic: large-scale warfare, team strategy, and high-stakes action. The game’s being developed by a unified team of four major studios—DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect—all working together under Battlefield Studios . Their goal? Deliver the most intense tactical combat the series has ever seen.
If you’ve been waiting for Battlefield to reclaim its throne—this might just be it. October 10 can't come soon enough.
