Boston Crusaders Win 2025 DCI World Championship After Thrilling Final Day
The 2025 Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championship Finals wrapped up in an electrifying showdown at Lucas Oil Stadium, marking the end of a remarkable summer season filled with fierce competition, unforgettable performances, and stunning displays of musical and visual artistry. After three intense days, the Boston Crusaders emerged victorious, clinching the World Championship title with an impressive score of 98.425. This marks their first-ever DCI World Championship win in their 85th year of competition, breaking a near-decade streak since a new champion was last crowned in 2016.
Throughout the finals, the tension was palpable as the Boston Crusaders and the Bluecoats went head-to-head, pushing each other to their limits. The Bluecoats, reigning champions and crowd favorites from Canton, Ohio, came incredibly close with a score of 98.250, earning several accolades including Best Visual Performance and Best Overall General Effect. The Boston Crusaders dazzled the audience not only with their championship-winning show titled "Boom" but also by sweeping several top awards such as Best Color Guard, Best Brass, and the prestigious Fred Sanford Award for Best Percussion Section.

The night featured an impressive lineup of top-tier corps, all showcasing unique, ambitious productions. Santa Clara Vanguard, a historically successful corps with seven previous world titles, showed great promise for climbing higher in the ranks. The Blue Devils, holders of the most DCI titles in history, continued to demonstrate their exceptional artistry with a strong third-place finish.
The finals began with exciting performances from corps like the Blue Knights and Colts, and the energy only grew with each act. The show was highlighted by innovative programming and challenging musical selections from all groups, blending classical, contemporary, and original compositions into spectacular field shows. Intermission performances included appearances from the INpact Band and the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, adding to the event’s grandeur.
