Inside The Block 2025: Daylesford’s Spa Town Becomes TV’s Hottest Renovation Spot
Hey, have you heard about the latest from The Block 2025 ? It’s been buzzing around, especially with Channel 9 and 9Now audiences. This season has really stepped up the game, and there’s a lot to unpack. First off, the show has returned to the charming town of Daylesford in Victoria, which is about 80 minutes from Melbourne. Known for its stunning scenery, mineral springs, and vibrant local community, Daylesford has provided the perfect backdrop for what’s being called a “classic Block series.”

This season marks a huge milestone for the long-running renovation series—it’s the 21st season, and believe it or not, it also celebrates the 1,000th episode of the show. For the first time in The Block ’s history, the homes are being built completely from scratch, all with identical layouts and sizes. So, while the blueprint is the same for every team, the judges will be looking for creativity and originality in the design and décor. Contestants really have to think outside the box if they want to impress.
The teams competing this year are a mix of couples and friends from across Australia, each bringing their own backgrounds and skills. There’s Sonny and Alicia, Britt and Taz, Han and Can, Robby and Mat, and Emma and Ben. Each team is being tested not only on design and renovation skills but also on time management—overnight work is off-limits, and the site is locked every night, so pressure is on to get rooms completed on schedule.
Scott Cam returns as host for his 19th season, joined by Shelley Craft in her 18th. Their dynamic has always been a highlight, and this year is no exception. Scott has shared that one of the unexpected perks of filming in Daylesford has been the mineral spa baths in the area. He’s admitted to taking daily swims in the sparkling mineral water, which he describes as “the ultimate location for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.” Shelley also praised the experience, saying that living locally for the three-month shoot helped the crew immerse themselves in the community, giving them a fresh perspective and a positive mindset.
Interestingly, Daylesford was originally supposed to host the 2024 season, but production had to be relocated due to planning disputes and community concerns. Now, it seems the town has warmly embraced the show, and the production has brought its full crew for a three-month stay. A purpose-built Sponsor Village has even been introduced onsite, changing the way sponsors interact with the program, which is a first for Australian TV.
So, whether you’re tuning in for the drama, the design, or just to see the beautiful Daylesford scenery, this season of The Block promises to deliver. With high-stakes challenges, creative ingenuity, and a touch of luxury spa life, it’s shaping up to be one of the most memorable seasons yet.
The show airs on Channel 9 and streams live on 9Now, and if you’re a fan of renovations or just love a good reality TV twist, this is one series you won’t want to miss.
