Marvel's Heroes Get Futuristic Techwear Makeover in Inhyuk Lee’s Striking New “Street-Verse” Variant Covers
Hey, have you heard about the latest Marvel news? It’s all about these super cool new variant covers coming this November, and honestly, they’re something else. So, there’s this amazing artist named Inhyuk Lee, who’s been working with Marvel for over a decade now. He’s super well-known for his digital art and his fantastic fashion sense, and this time, he’s created what’s called the “Street-Verse” variant covers.
What’s so special about these covers? Well, Inhyuk Lee has taken classic Marvel superheroes—think Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, even Doctor Doom—and reimagined their traditional costumes in this really sleek, futuristic style called techwear. If you’re not familiar, techwear is all about combining cutting-edge design with practical functionality, sort of like what you’d expect in a sci-fi or cyberpunk world. It’s modern, stylish, and very much street-inspired.
These covers were first shown to retailers at San Diego Comic-Con last month, and they’ve been generating a ton of buzz. Fans are excited because not only do these covers look visually stunning, but they also bring a fresh vibe to some of Marvel’s most iconic characters. Imagine Spider-Man or Miles Morales rocking outfits that could pass as high-tech urban gear — it’s a bold, new twist that really plays well with the characters’ personalities and backstories.

Inhyuk shared a bit about his process too. He actually started as a character designer at a gaming company about 20 years ago, so designing characters is kind of his jam. Since 2021, he’s been working on a personal project where he redesigns Spider-Man’s costumes with a modern flair, calling it “Who is next?” Marvel saw what he was doing, liked it a lot, and reached out to collaborate on these variant covers and a big mural project. He said working with Marvel is always a pleasure because they really know how to bring out the best in him.
Now, here’s something really exciting — among the comics getting these covers is a brand-new title that Marvel hasn’t officially announced yet. There’s speculation that it might be connected to a new Hulk series, especially with the big changes hinted at in the upcoming Hulk #30 issue. That issue promises some major shake-ups, including the return of Abomination and the introduction of the Mother of Horrors. The October issue might even be setting the stage for a fresh Hulk #1 dropping in November.
All in all, the Street-Verse covers are expected to be released throughout November, covering a bunch of titles like Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and more. There are 20 covers in total, so there’s plenty for collectors and fans to get excited about.
If you’re interested, these variant covers can be preordered at your local comic shop, or you can read the digital versions on the Marvel Unlimited app. It’s a great way to see these fresh takes on your favorite heroes and maybe catch the start of a new era for characters like Hulk.
So yeah, if you love Marvel and cool new art styles, keep an eye out for Inhyuk Lee’s Street-Verse covers—they might just change how you see the Marvel Universe!
