PSG Star Achraf Hakimi Faces Trial Request Over 2023 Rape Allegation
So, there’s been a major update in the legal situation surrounding Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan footballer currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain. According to the French outlet Le Parisien , the Nanterre prosecutor’s office has formally requested that Hakimi be put on trial in connection with a rape allegation dating back to February 2023.

The case has been under investigation for quite some time, but things have now taken a serious turn. If the request is accepted by the judge, Hakimi will face trial in the criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine. And if convicted, he could be looking at a prison sentence of up to 15 years. That’s not a small matter, especially for someone with such a high-profile career.
Let’s go back to how all this started. The alleged incident happened after Hakimi reportedly chatted for about a month with a 24-year-old woman via Instagram. They eventually agreed to meet in person at Hakimi’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. According to the woman’s statement to police, things escalated quickly once they were alone. She claimed that Hakimi kissed her on the mouth and touched her breasts over her clothing—despite her protests and without her consent. She also said that after a forced hug, she managed to push him away with her foot and flee the scene.
She later contacted a friend, who picked her up and reportedly found her in a state of shock. That friend backed up her emotional condition in a statement to the police. These testimonies seemed to carry enough weight for the prosecutor’s office to move forward with the case.
But despite his firm denials and support from PSG, the fact remains that the French prosecutor has sided with the accuser’s version of events—at least enough to push for a trial. So now it’s up to the investigating judge to decide whether the case officially goes to court.
Either way, this is far from over, and it’s casting a long shadow over Hakimi’s career and public image.
