Rachel Riley Faces Harrowing Stalker Ordeal and Opens Up About Family Life

So, here’s the story about Rachel Riley, the Countdown star, who recently went through a really unsettling experience with a stalker. Apparently, a woman named Felicity Lowde, who has a history of stalking and harassment, targeted Rachel in a pretty intense and disturbing way. This wasn’t just any random admirer — Lowde accused Rachel of being the “ringleader of a cult of celebrities.” Yeah, it sounds like something out of a thriller.

Over the course of the harassment, Rachel’s name was brought up more than 200 times in nearly 900 blog posts that Lowde published. Lowde bizarrely claimed that Rachel was involved in some sort of international conspiracy alongside famous figures like J.K. Rowling, Stephen Fry, and Katie Hopkins. She even said they communicated using secret codes on social media. Things got even stranger when Lowde accused Rachel of having a “sexual obsession with toilets.”

To make matters worse, Rachel, who is Jewish, was also targeted with hateful remarks linking her to the Israel-Gaza conflict, with Lowde saying she was “complicit in genocide.” All of this was brought to light in court after Lowde tried to sue Rachel last year, accusing her of trying to steal her creative work and hijack her identity — even though they’ve never met.

Rachel reported Lowde to the police, and given Lowde’s multiple prior convictions for stalking and harassment, she was arrested. The police then sought a stalking protection order on Rachel’s behalf, which was granted. Lowde was banned for life from contacting or referring to Rachel on social media, and if she violates this order, she could face jail time. At the hearing, it was made clear that Rachel feared for her safety throughout this ordeal.

On a much lighter note, Rachel has recently opened up about her family life. She and her husband, Pasha Kovalev, whom she met on Strictly Come Dancing and married in 2019, have decided not to have any more children. They already have two daughters, Maven, who is five, and Noa, who is three. Rachel shared with Woman magazine that she feels their family is complete.

Both kids are already showing interest in dancing, taking ballet classes, and Rachel fondly talked about how Pasha loves to playfully toss them around the kitchen. She also reminisced about taking her children to Disneyland Paris for the first time, which brought back warm childhood memories of her own grandmother taking her to see The Lion King at the cinema. It was a touching reminder of how those childhood experiences can be felt anew through the eyes of her kids.

Rachel is set to be back on TV soon with Countdown and its comedy spin-off, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, both returning this August. But despite her dancing background, she’s no longer interested in going back to Strictly, saying she prefers the thrill of real adventures like her recent show Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters.

All in all, Rachel has faced some dark moments but continues to shine on screen and cherish her family life.
