The Los Angeles Rams couldn’t have asked for a better beginning to their season, and a lot of the credit goes to their new receiving duo — Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. In just two games together, these two have already proven they can light up defenses and give Matthew Stafford exactly the kind of reliable firepower he needs.

In Sunday’s 33–19 win over the Tennessee Titans, Adams looked like the big-name playmaker he’s always been. He finished the night with 106 receiving yards and grabbed his very first touchdown in a Rams uniform. What made that score even sweeter is that Sean McVay and Stafford had clearly been trying to get him into the end zone. Adams admitted after the game that his coach was dialing up plays just to make it happen — and finally, it clicked on a 16-yard strike. That touchdown wasn’t just a milestone for this season; it also helped Adams surpass 12,000 career receiving yards, a mark very few receivers have ever reached.

While Adams was busy making his mark, Puka Nacua kept reminding everyone that he’s not going anywhere either. Nacua has already piled up 18 receptions in just two games, the best mark in the league so far. Against Tennessee, he hauled in eight catches and even showed off his versatility with a 45-yard jet sweep touchdown. That play wasn’t just a highlight — it was a statement that he can hurt defenses in multiple ways. In fact, Nacua now joins Odell Beckham Jr. as one of only two players in the past 55 years to notch more than 200 catches in their first 30 games.

Stafford looks comfortable throwing to both, and what’s even more encouraging is the way Adams and Nacua feed off each other. According to Stafford, nobody cheers harder for an Adams touchdown than Nacua, and the same is true the other way around. That kind of chemistry can’t be faked, and it’s making this offense dangerous early in the season.

Of course, the Rams’ success isn’t just about the offense. The defense has continued its strong run from last season, giving up only three touchdowns over the past six regular-season games. Byron Young is emerging as a real pass-rushing force, collecting sacks and forcing turnovers. Still, not everything is perfect — the running game has been inconsistent, and special teams had a shaky outing in Tennessee.

Even with some areas to clean up, the Rams’ identity is forming quickly. They have two elite receivers who complement each other beautifully, a quarterback who trusts them, and a defense capable of backing it all up. Their next test will be a big one — a road trip to Philadelphia to face the defending champion Eagles, the very team that knocked them out of last year’s playoffs. That game will serve as an early measuring stick, but with Adams and Nacua already in sync, the Rams are looking every bit like a contender again.
