Epstein Birthday Photo Links Trump to Disturbing Check
A new controversy has emerged from the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s so-called “birthday book,” a scrapbook compiled for his 50th birthday. Among its pages, a striking photo has been made public. In it, Epstein is seen holding a novelty check, apparently signed “DJ Trump.” What makes the image especially alarming is the handwritten note that suggests Epstein “sold” a woman to Donald Trump for $22,500. The photo, which was shared online by House Democrats, has fueled renewed debate about the long and troubling connections between Trump and the disgraced financier.
The image also includes Joel Pashcow, a longtime Mar-a-Lago member, and a woman whose face has been redacted. A caption, reportedly written by Pashcow, describes Epstein as showing “early talents with money and women,” and claims that a woman was “sold” to Trump as part of this supposed transaction. The remark goes on to complain that Pashcow “didn’t get any of the money on the girl.” Whether intended as a crude joke or something more sinister, the photo has unsettled many observers.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the woman was someone Epstein and Trump socialized with during the 1990s. However, her lawyer has strongly rejected the claim, calling the caption a “disgusting and deeply disturbing hoax.” She stated that she had no romantic ties to either man, had cut off contact with Epstein by the late 1990s, and was completely unaware of the birthday book until it was made public.
Pashcow, whose name has appeared in Epstein’s flight records, could not be reached for comment. Public records show him as a Palm Beach resident and a longtime investor with ties to local institutions, including a police and fire foundation. When previously confronted about Epstein, he reportedly dismissed the subject outright.
The scrapbook itself is believed to have been compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s close associate who was convicted in 2022 of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Its release comes at a politically sensitive moment, as House Democrats have been pressuring the Trump administration over Epstein-related files. While Trump pledged during his campaign to release Epstein’s client list, officials later declared no such list existed. Trump has since called the controversy a “Democratic hoax.”
Trump and Epstein’s friendship, which lasted until the early 2000s, has long been scrutinized. Trump has claimed they fell out because Epstein tried to recruit workers from his Mar-a-Lago resort, one of whom later became a victim of Epstein’s abuse. Epstein himself pleaded guilty in 2008 to charges involving a minor and died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on further sex-trafficking charges.
When reached by NBC for comment this week, Trump dismissed the subject, calling Epstein “a dead issue.” But the resurfacing of this bizarre birthday check has reopened questions about the former president’s ties to Epstein, casting another shadow over Trump as legal and political challenges continue to mount.
