Mbappe Shines as Real Madrid Crush Levante 4-1
It was another night of dominance for Real Madrid, as they extended their perfect start to the La Liga season with a convincing 4-1 victory over Levante at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia. The win marked their sixth consecutive league victory, keeping them firmly at the top of the table under new manager Xabi Alonso.
The match began with Real Madrid quickly asserting control, and it didn’t take long for their flair to show. In the 28th minute, Vinícius Júnior delivered a moment of magic. From a tight angle, he used the outside of his boot to bend the ball past Levante’s goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, who was rooted to the spot. It was a strike that set the tone for the evening.
Ten minutes later, Franco Mastantuono doubled Madrid’s lead. The 18-year-old, who joined in the summer, latched onto a crossfield ball from Vinícius. With space to run, he powered a shot into the top corner, leaving Ryan helpless. The teenager’s goal was his first in La Liga, making him one of the youngest scorers in Real Madrid’s history. At half-time, Alonso’s men looked well in control at 2-0.

Levante, however, were not ready to roll over. Early in the second half, Ivan Romero’s looping cross caught Thibaut Courtois off guard, and Etta Eyong rose to head the ball in from close range. Suddenly, it was 2-1, and there was a glimmer of hope for the home side.
But that hope didn’t last long. Just past the hour mark, Kylian Mbappé stepped up. First, he won and converted a penalty in the 64th minute, cheekily chipping a Panenka over Ryan. Barely two minutes later, he was set up by Arda Güler and finished with calm precision, sliding the ball over the keeper for his second of the night. That quick double pushed the scoreline to 4-1 and effectively ended the contest.
Mbappé’s brace means he has now scored seven goals in six league games this season. His influence was undeniable, and his partnership with Vinícius and the young Mastantuono highlighted Madrid’s frightening attacking depth.
The result also placed Xabi Alonso in rare company. With six straight wins, he became only the second Real Madrid manager to start his La Liga career with such a streak, following Vanderlei Luxemburgo back in 2005. Next weekend, Alonso will have the chance to equal that record in the Madrid derby against Atlético.
For Levante, the defeat kept them languishing near the bottom, while Madrid stretched their lead at the top to five points over Barcelona, who still have a game in hand.
On a night when talent, youth, and experience blended seamlessly, Real Madrid once again showed why they remain the team to beat in Spain. The scoreline of 4-1 could have been even higher, but for the fans in Valencia, it was Mbappé’s brilliance that will be remembered most.
