Patrick Dempsey Unveils the New 911 Turbo S with 701bhp
Hey everyone, have you heard the latest from Porsche? Something really exciting has just been unveiled, and it’s making quite a buzz in the automotive world. Hollywood actor and racing driver Patrick Dempsey recently presented the new top-of-the-range 911 Turbo S, and trust me, this is not your everyday sports car.
The launch was done as a digital world premiere, where Dempsey personally guided the audience through the entire journey of creating this innovative machine. From the wind tunnel tests to the engine development and finally the test track in Weissach, every stage of this car’s evolution was explored. Along the way, he met Porsche’s sports car boss Frank Moser, development driver and brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, tech YouTuber Jason Fenske, and a host of other engineers who brought this project to life.

The new 911 Turbo S is a beast. Under the hood, it features a 3.6-litre flat-six engine with twin hybrid electric turbos. These turbos are slightly smaller than those on the GTS model, which allows them to spin faster—up to an incredible 145,000 rpm. This translates into a jaw-dropping 701 brake horsepower, delivering maximum torque over twice the rev range of the previous 992.1 Turbo S. Porsche claims it can hit 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, and insiders hint that with the right tires, it might even dip below that—essentially Bugatti Chiron territory.
The car doesn’t just excel in acceleration. It sprints from 0 to 125 mph in 8.4 seconds and tops out at 200 mph, helped by a 10% reduction in drag thanks to the carbon aero-faced wheels. Pro Porsche test pilot Jörg Bergmeister clocked a Nürburgring lap time of 7 minutes and 3.9 seconds, which is 14 seconds faster than the previous Turbo S. And despite the hybrid tech and extra motor, the car still keeps four-wheel drive and an overall driving experience that emphasizes throttle response and handling rather than silent electric cruising.
Porsche has also kept weight-saving measures in mind. Carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust system, optional carbon roof, and even carbon wiper arms have been used to shave kilos where possible. Inside, the car gets 18-way adjustable seats, a Sport Chrono stopwatch, a red ‘sport response’ button, and a subtle gunmetal-purple hue called Turbonite for the badges and trim.
The new 911 Turbo S is on display at the IAA Mobility motor show in Munich from September 9, and prices start around £200,000. It’s a high-performance machine that manages to remain practical with rear seats and a decent boot, yet it still keeps some hypercar-level thrills intact.
So, whether you’re a Porsche fan, a petrolhead, or just someone who appreciates engineering brilliance, the new 911 Turbo S is definitely a car to watch.
