Tom Holland Pauses Spider-Man Filming After Concussion
Fans of the Marvel universe got an unexpected update this week, and it involves none other than Tom Holland, everyone’s favorite Spider-Man. While working on his latest film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day , Holland reportedly suffered a mild concussion. The incident is said to have taken place while he was performing a stunt on set. According to multiple reports, he struck his head, which resulted in the injury.
Production sources have shared that Holland was fortunate the concussion was not more serious. Out of precaution, he will be stepping away from filming duties for a short time. Although the injury required him to take a break, it has been emphasized that he is expected to make a full recovery soon. In fact, insiders suggested that he could return to set within a week. The decision to halt filming temporarily was made so that the production would not proceed without its leading man.
Interestingly, Holland did manage to attend a charity event for The Brothers Trust, a foundation he co-runs with his family, just a day after the accident. However, those who saw him noted he left early, still feeling the effects of the injury. His presence at the event reassured many fans that he is recovering, even if rest remains necessary.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is Holland’s fourth outing as the web-slinging hero, and anticipation has been building for its release in July 2026. The movie brings back familiar faces like Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned, while also adding some new talent to the cast. Actors such as Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Tramell Tillman from Severance are joining the lineup, alongside returning Marvel veterans like Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal. Michael Mando is also back, reprising his role as the villain Scorpion.
Despite this brief pause in production, studio executives from Sony and Marvel have indicated that the film’s release schedule is not expected to be affected. The movie will continue to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings .
For Holland, this film marks another big milestone in a role he has played since 2016, one that has already delivered record-breaking box office results. From Homecoming to No Way Home , his Spider-Man films have been among the most successful in Sony’s history, with No Way Home even crossing the $1.9 billion mark globally.
So while the news of his concussion may have startled fans at first, the reassurance is clear: the injury is mild, his recovery is on track, and filming will pick up again soon. In true superhero fashion, Holland seems determined to bounce back quickly and continue bringing Spider-Man’s next chapter to life.
