UNC and UCF Set for High-Stakes Week 4 Clash in Orlando
The stage is set in Orlando as the North Carolina Tar Heels hit the road to face the UCF Knights in a Week 4 showdown of the 2025 college football season. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern at the Acrisure Bounce House, and the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX. For fans who prefer streaming, it will also be available on Fubo with a free trial option.
This matchup is filled with storylines that make it much more than just another September game. North Carolina enters the contest at 2-1, having bounced back from a tough season-opening loss with two straight wins. The Tar Heels are led by none other than Bill Belichick, the eight-time Super Bowl champion now in his first season as head coach at UNC. Belichick’s arrival has brought a new level of intrigue to the program, especially since this will be his final nonconference test before ACC play begins against Clemson on October 4.

On the other side, UCF stands undefeated at 2-0, coming off a bye week after cruising through its first two games. The Knights are coached by Scott Frost, who interestingly once played under Belichick when both were with the New York Jets in the late 1990s. That history adds an extra layer of connection between the two sidelines, and Frost’s team has been turning heads with a defense that has allowed fewer than 100 passing yards per game so far this season.
Both programs are undergoing transitions, with UCF now competing in the Big 12 and North Carolina looking to reestablish itself under a legendary new coach. The Tar Heels are also riding momentum from last week’s commanding 41-6 win over Richmond, highlighted by freshman running back Demon June’s breakout 148-yard performance. If June can keep that pace against a much stronger Knights defense, it could give Carolina a chance to control the game on the ground.
The oddsmakers, however, see UCF as the slight favorite. The spread leans Knights by a touchdown, with a predicted final score of UCF 24, UNC 21. Playing inside the Bounce House, known for its electric home-field atmosphere, is expected to give the Knights an edge. Still, with Belichick on the opposite sideline, few are ready to count out the Tar Heels.
What makes this game even more compelling is the fact that it’s the first-ever meeting between these two programs. A win would give Carolina not just its 754th all-time victory, but also its first win over a Big 12 team in more than two decades. For UCF, a victory would solidify its early-season momentum and add a signature nonconference win before diving deeper into Big 12 play.
When the ball is kicked off in Orlando, fans can expect a competitive battle between two teams still shaping their identities. It may come down to which side makes the key plays late, and with so many fresh faces and big names on both sidelines, this Week 4 clash could be one of the most intriguing games of the young college football season.
