Bre Tiesi Breaks Silence on Mariah Carey While Reflecting on Life With Nick Cannon
Bre Tiesi, one of the standout stars from Netflix’s Selling Sunset , has finally made a rare and rather candid comment about Nick Cannon’s ex-wife, Mariah Carey — and as expected, it’s become one of the most talked-about moments from the show’s latest season.
During season nine, Bre, who joined Selling Sunset back in season six, was seen chatting with newcomer Sandra Vergara about some of the ongoing drama at The Oppenheim Group. The conversation unexpectedly shifted toward her relationship with Nick Cannon — and his rather complex family life. When Sandra jokingly asked if Cannon “had like 20 kids,” Bre quickly clarified that the real number is 12. Sandra then referred to him as “Mariah Carey’s ex” and asked if Bre had ever met the music icon herself.
That’s when Bre drew a very clear line. Calmly but firmly, she said, “I try not to talk about my religion. I don’t talk about pronouns or Mariah. Just for the future, those are things that are my no’s.” It was one of those moments where Bre’s boundaries were clearly laid out — no unnecessary comparisons, no poking around her personal choices, and definitely no talk about Mariah Carey.

For those unfamiliar, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon share 14-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The pair were married for six years before separating in 2014, and they’ve since maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship. Despite the separation, Cannon has often spoken highly of Mariah, describing her as someone with “high frequency” energy who continues to check in on his well-being.
As for Bre, her relationship with Cannon began long before Selling Sunset fame. The two share a son, Legendary Love, born in June 2022. Bre has described Nick as her “best friend” and said that their connection remains strong, even though their relationship doesn’t fit traditional molds. She’s been open about being in a non-monogamous relationship and insists she’s comfortable with it — even if others don’t quite understand.
“I’m not threatened,” she once said, explaining that she knows her bond with Nick is unique. At the same time, Bre admitted that expanding their family isn’t in her immediate plans. She’s focused on giving all her time and energy to their son, Legendary, saying that adding another child right now “wouldn’t feel fair.”
Bre’s approach to fame, family, and personal boundaries has made her one of the most intriguing figures on Selling Sunset . While the show thrives on drama, Bre seems intent on steering clear of gossip — especially when it comes to her life with Nick Cannon and his past relationships.
Selling Sunset season nine is now streaming on Netflix, and Bre’s unfiltered honesty continues to remind viewers that even in Hollywood’s most glamorous settings, some topics are simply off-limits.
