Disney+ and Hulu Revive ‘King of the Hill’ for Two More Seasons
Big news for fans of classic animated comedy — King of the Hill is officially sticking around for a while longer. Hulu, under the Disney+ streaming umbrella, has announced that the beloved revival of the show has been renewed for not just one but two more seasons. This means the series will now continue through Seasons 16 and 17, giving fans plenty more time with the Hill family and their quirky neighbors in Arlen, Texas.

Now, for those who might not know, King of the Hill originally ran on Fox for 13 seasons, building a loyal fan base with its sharp humor, grounded storytelling, and unforgettable characters. After several years of speculation about a comeback, Hulu finally brought it back in 2023 with creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels returning at the helm. The revival has been a major success, and it’s clear Disney and Hulu see it as one of their strongest animated properties.
Season 14, which premiered this past August, turned out to be a massive hit. According to Disney’s data, it was the biggest adult animation premiere in five years across both Disney+ and Hulu, drawing an impressive 4.4 million views in its first week. Nielsen’s streaming ratings backed that up, reporting that the show racked up over 1.2 billion viewing minutes during its debut week — and more than a billion hours watched worldwide since its return. That’s huge for a series that originally ended more than a decade ago.
The revival follows Hank and Peggy Hill, voiced once again by Mike Judge and Kathy Najimy, as they come back to their hometown after years working abroad in Saudi Arabia. They find Arlen has changed, but some things — like their propane-fueled banter and tight-knit friendships — remain as strong as ever. Meanwhile, their son Bobby, now in his 20s, is living in Dallas and chasing his dream as a chef, joined by familiar faces like Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
Behind the scenes, the show continues to be powered by its original creative team. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Saladin Patterson, with 3 Arts Entertainment’s Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein, and Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis also on board. The production is handled by 20th Television Animation, another Disney property.
With Seasons 16 and 17 now greenlit, King of the Hill shows no signs of slowing down. It’s more than just nostalgia — it’s proof that great storytelling, strong characters, and a touch of propane-powered heart can still draw a massive audience in the streaming era. Fans can expect Season 15 to drop in 2026, and by the looks of it, Hank Hill’s Texas-sized adventures are just heating up again.
