Neve Campbell Returns to Face Ghostface in Chilling ‘Scream 7’ Trailer
The Ghostface mask is back — and so is Neve Campbell. Yes, the first trailer for Scream 7 has officially dropped, and fans are losing it over the return of Sidney Prescott, the fearless survivor who defined an entire generation of horror. The upcoming film, set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, promises to revive that classic blend of terror, mystery, and nostalgia that made the franchise legendary.
After plenty of production shakeups and behind-the-scenes drama, it’s finally happening. Neve Campbell has returned to lead the story once again, stepping back into the role that’s both haunted and empowered her for decades. This time, things get personal — the trailer teases a blood-soaked showdown that hits close to home as Sidney, her husband Mark (played by Joel McHale), and their daughter Tatum (portrayed by Isabel May) find themselves targeted by the infamous Ghostface killer.
Fans will also recognize several familiar faces. Courteney Cox is back as Gale Weathers, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown reprise their roles from the recent installments, and yes — somehow — David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley are all set to make appearances. Whether they show up in flashbacks, hallucinations, or something even creepier is still under wraps, but their inclusion adds a nostalgic edge that longtime fans will love.

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Scream 7 . The film went through creative overhauls and casting controversies before finding its footing. Melissa Barrera, who played Sam Carpenter in the last two films, was dropped after social media remarks, and Jenna Ortega, who played her sister Tara, couldn’t return due to her commitment to Netflix’s Wednesday . Even director Christopher Landon exited the project in late 2023. That’s when Scream creator Kevin Williamson stepped in to direct — a move that instantly reignited excitement among horror fans.
The script comes from Guy Busick, with story credits shared by James Vanderbilt, who also helped shape the last two films. Paramount Pictures is distributing the movie alongside Spyglass Media Group, Project X Entertainment, and Outerbanks Entertainment.
New faces joining the bloodbath include Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Michelle Randolph, Sam Rechner, Jimmy Tatro, Mark Consuelos, and Ethan Embry. Each seems to play a part in what looks like another twisted web of suspicion, secrets, and survival.
With its chilling trailer, nostalgic cast, and the return of Sidney Prescott, Scream 7 is shaping up to be both a love letter to the franchise’s roots and a brutal new chapter. Ghostface is back — and this time, it feels more personal than ever.
