The USA squad features some exciting newcomers, including all-rounders Shubham Subhash Ranjane and Rushil Ugarkar, who may make their ICC ODI debuts in this series. Other notable players include Saurabh Netravalkar, Milind Kumar, Smit Patel, Shayan Jahangir, and Saiteja Mukkamalla, among others. The team is supported by a strong backroom staff, including assistant coaches, a strength and conditioning coach, and a team analyst.
The opening match against Nepal has seen USA bat first, and by the 22nd over, they were positioned at 88 for 2, with Smit Patel contributing a solid 39 runs. Saiteja Mukkamalla has also been impressive, hitting crucial boundaries, including a six off Nepal’s star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. Nepal, currently seventh in the League 2 standings with five wins and nine losses, is looking to capitalize on familiar conditions and a strong spin attack to boost their chances of finishing in the top four. The top four teams in the league earn direct qualification to the World Cup Qualifier, making every match in this series highly significant.
For the USA, who sit second in the League 2 table with 14 wins and six losses, adapting to Dubai’s conditions will be critical. They face a challenging task against a Nepalese side that is eager to make its mark. The series schedule includes multiple encounters between all three teams, ensuring a competitive battle for crucial points. Fans worldwide can catch live streaming of the matches on ICC.tv and the Fancode app, although there will be no telecast in India.
This tri-series not only serves as an exciting chapter in League 2 but also plays a pivotal role in shaping the pathway to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
