A shocking explosion has rocked the heart of India’s capital, Delhi, sending waves of panic through the city. The blast occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station, one of Delhi’s most iconic landmarks, on Monday evening. Reports have confirmed that at least eight people have tragically lost their lives, while around 24 others sustained injuries of varying severity. The Red Fort area, where the blast took place, is densely populated and highly frequented by both locals and tourists. It is located less than five miles from the Indian Parliament and just meters away from the bustling Chandni Chowk market. Eyewitnesses described terrifying scenes immediately after the explosion. Flames were seen rising from the site, and panic spread as people tried to comprehend the scale of the incident. Some witnesses reported seeing body parts on the road, while others spoke of vehicles being severely damaged. The blast reportedly originated from a slow-moving car that stopped at a traffic signal near the metro station. Following the explosion, fire tenders and emergency teams, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, National Security Guard, National Investigation Agency, and forensic teams, rushed to the scene to manage the situation and begin investigations.

Authorities have emphasized that the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Delhi Police and other security agencies are exploring all possibilities, and officials have stated that casualty figures are still being verified with local hospitals. Medical teams were quickly dispatched, and the injured were rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital. According to hospital sources, eight victims died before reaching the hospital, three are in serious condition, and one remains stable.

The government has taken the incident very seriously. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been briefed by Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in continuous contact with security officials, including the Intelligence Bureau. High alert protocols have been activated not only in Delhi but also across Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Security has been tightened at sensitive religious sites, border areas, and other locations deemed vulnerable.

This tragic event has left the nation in shock, as people grapple with the reality of an attack in such a central and symbolic location. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blast, aiming to ensure public safety and prevent further incidents.
