Five Shropshire Streets Share Lucky Postcode Lottery Wins

So, there’s been a wave of good news rolling through Shropshire this month, all thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery. If you haven’t heard already, five neighbourhoods across Oswestry, Shrewsbury, and Newtown have been celebrating after their postcodes were pulled in November’s draws. And honestly, it’s been a pretty exciting moment for the residents who play, because each winning ticket brought in £1,000—up to a maximum of £6,000 per street depending on how many people were signed up.

What makes this lottery a little different is that players don’t pick numbers—your postcode becomes your entry. Once you’re subscribed, which costs £12 a month, you’re automatically placed into every draw. And beyond the cash prizes, part of that subscription goes to charity. In fact, at least 33 percent of each ticket supports good causes, and over £1.2 billion has already been raised for charities and foundations across the UK. So every win comes with a feel-good ripple effect.

Now, looking at the lucky Shropshire postcodes for November, the first big moment came on November 21, when SY10 7QD in Bryn-Celyn, Oswestry was drawn. Anyone playing there picked up £1,000 per ticket, with the total capped at £6,000. Just a few days earlier, on November 18, another Shrewsbury area—SY2 5WN, covering Preston Street, Holland Drive, Pankhurst Way, and Burkitt Close—also received the same £1,000-per-ticket win. The celebrations continued when SY2 5XT in Lowfield, Shrewsbury landed a prize on November 17.

Newtown wasn’t left out either. On November 14, players in SY16 2LT around Parker’s Lane were surprised with the same £1,000 reward per ticket, again up to £6,000. And rounding out the month, SY3 9NS in Mary Webb Road, Shrewsbury claimed its share on November 8.

It’s been a similar story elsewhere in the country too. In Worcestershire, anyone in WR11 8TN on Roberts Lane in South Littleton who was signed up for the draw was also handed £1,000. And in East Lancashire, residents in Burnley and Padiham celebrated wins for their postcodes—BB11 3RU and BB12 8PD—adding more communities to the growing list of November’s lucky locations.

What’s interesting is that these regular daily draws genuinely keep people watching, because any postcode could be next. And for many of these streets, the win doesn’t just bring in a bit of extra cash—it brings neighbours together, even for a moment, to share in something positive.

So, whether you play for the potential payout, the charitable support, or just the fun of being part of something community-based, the People’s Postcode Lottery has definitely given several UK neighbourhoods a reason to smile this month.
